Worland Community Center Complex

The WCCC partners include the City of Worland, the Town of Ten
Sleep, Washakie County, the Worland Senior Citizen’s Center, and the Worland Rec Board.

The WCCC houses Northwest College Adult Education, Worland Youth Learning Center, Busy Bee’s Preschool, the University of Wyoming Washakie County Agricultural Extension, the State of Wyoming’s Vocational Rehabilitation and Work Force Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Gail Carver Photography, Kathy Smith Counseling Services, Balloon Creations and Kiwanis and Rotary service clubs.

Due to the General Purpose Tax the WCCC has assisted the Senior Center in building repairs of $14,566. We have put in a new Boiler $42,300, a new commercial water heater $5,862, an updated
pneumatic control system $16,678, paved the back parking lot $20,000 and added a new garage $15,000 in conjunction with the Worland Senior Center.

We have put on a new roof membrane on our west end building $60,000. We have installed cameras throughout the building for safety at a cost of $8,840. Some of the WCCC operations total costs over the last 4 years include Repairs and Maintenance $146,974, utilities $215,350 and Property Insurance $86,752. All of this would not be done without the 1 cent tax over the last 4 years for our large buildings.

We host the Pinnacle Bank Festival of Trees, Culture Fest, UofW Ag Extension Westi Ag Days, and 90% of Rec activities, with several other community events as well as school evacuations practice/drill site and the Emergency Shelter site for Washakie Medical Center,
American Red Cross, BLM and the Wyoming State Boys School.

In the next 4 years, we will put another membrane on the second half of the west end building as well as a new membrane on the main building as it has been 17 years since we put a new one on. We are putting on a new roof top AC unit for the WYLC rooms and have to put one above the Administrative Offices as the current 20+ year old one just failed for this summer.
